Hi all, been a while since out on mountain bike , other toys/work/wedding got in way. Now decided to get a downhill bike (08 giant glory) .

Wondered If there's any other newbie dh riders looking for a ride / crash in my case.

Also where's ideal place for a beginner to downhill.

I started downhill myself only last year and can only recommend the areas in the order I attempted them once I was confident in my ability and used to going over the handle bars! .... Happens every trip out!

I started off riding Winterfold in Surry, then moving onto Danbury. Once I was confident on those two area's moved onto area's like Pitch&Ranmore common in Surrey and Aston hill which are steeper and more challenging.

Still need to get out to Chicksand and Woburn

Is there any regular rides for dh. not mega challenging

Yeah there is a group of us that ride most weekends mainly hit Chicsands,Aston hill, porc we ride to our ability not peer pressure Im a newbie only been riding 9 or so months and ride with guys that help me progress all big gaps and drops have a route round aka chicken runs so depends on what your comfortable with. ps a few of us are going porc tomorrow.

I'll keep an eye out for rides then!! Can't make porc Wife's bday and I'm sure me out on a bike isn't what she wants?
