Hi All,
Hoping someone can help me. Went to an event as Chicksand a few weeks back and decided there and then I wanted to try it.
I've just purchased a bike and will be taking myself out and about but wondered if anyone would be willing to show me the ropes as a complete beginner.
I look forward to hearing from you all
Thanks
Charllie

Welcome.

What bike did you get? :)

Best bet will be to get in on one of the upcoming group rides that pop up from time to time, they are usually punctuated with stops to let everyone catch back up so a good place to start.

Have order the 'Trek Superfly 6 2016 Women's Mountain Bike'. This is what they told me would be something to start with in shop I went to.

Have been told to try and get some practice in so get used to riding for a couple of hours at a time and over different terrains as the local group I found you have to be a certain level before you can join :/ but obviously as a newbie I have no idea if I would be at that standard or not because I've never done it - so was hoping some locals wouldn't mind me getting involved

Where are you ?
We as a forum cater for everyone but helpful to know who's local and which group of riders to speak to. If that makes sense

Hi Charllie

Live over that way as well.

There is a quite an active local group of ladies within the facebook group "Broxbourne/Wormley Mountain Bikers" . You could do worse than ask Liz what they are up to :-)

You've kept that group quiet.

Don't know them, but they are nice enough to say "Hi" when they overtake me and disappear off round the next corner :(

Thank you all for help. Going to start taking bike out in local wooded area in Welwyn where I know there and some simple trails and build up fitness then look to join groups.
