C&P thanks to airsquare at BR

All - just thought I'd let you know that Essex County Council have a survey relating to what happens with the Hadleigh Olympic Mountain Bike Course after the olympics. Survey only takes 5 - 10 mins and asks about what level it should be left at and whether it should be added to with extra facilities...... so this good chance for local (mountain) bikers to let them know what it should be like and who it should be aimed at.

Some of the reports on the legacy seemed to suggest they're thining about removing most of the obstacles etc - now where's the fun in that!. So this perfect opp to let them know there is demand for it to be real decent place.... and lets face it Essex & the South East needs all the help it can get.

Survey needs to be completed by end of Septemeber and here is the link:

Spread the word!.

Did it last week, also left a comment regarding the removal and toning down of some of the obstacles.

Done with suitable comments. I hope there isn't some bird watching or dogging group asking for it to be completely dismantled.

Ha..I did it the other day so i too left comments along the lines of the above, (i.e dont tame it down so it becomes dull and pointless), the trouble is the course has been made with some serious rocks and boulders which could be pretty gruesome should you crash on them....Ive just returned from Morzine/Les Gets which of course has some very extreme tracks but they are mostly mud with odd (padded) trees here and there and you can crash (as indeed I did) without major injury.

It is worth noting that the most gnarly section of the Hadleigh course already have 'chicken runs'.

Ha..oh no...but I did have a few sneaky goes in the past, its now been made unrideable by sticking big wooden gates on it (even in the two bits that are outside the Sally Army land and in the Country Park area), theres signs warning death n pestilence should you dare ride any of it !
