Update to the Bad Boy project.

Changed the grips for some Giant lock ons.
Changed the horrendous Cannondale pedals for some Wellgo V8 copies as a stop gap.
Taken off the granny ring and outer ring along with the front mech so it's running 1x9 now.

Only problem now is that due to there only being one cable running through the BB cable guide it keeps pulling the cable guide out of its hole every time I shift gear (it's not threaded so is only a push fit) because it doesn't have the second cable to hold it even :/

Going to get a dedicated single front ring in black soon, and maybe glue (epoxy?) the cable guide into it's hole to hold it.

Been working on No1's little bike, the idea was to teach a little bit of skills in bike maintenance at the same time.
So first tyres and bars fitted

Stripped off the old brakes and wheels.

Fitted an A2Z disk brake adapter

And the pedals have turned up, must say they are a bargain and pretty light. (Might be worth a punt if anyone is looking for some)

So still waiting on the brakes and the wheels to turn up.

No1 has done diddly squat other than put air in the tyres.

Come on CRC where's me bits!!!

So popped down to get the cassette off the old wheel, got home to put it on the new wheel, no problem so far.
Because the wheel was for a dirt jumping bike it's set up for single speed only. Fitment is the same but once the cassette is on it sticks out past the axle! Gahhhhhh this bike is going send me over the edge.
At least the brakes fit and work ok. Got to buy a new wheel or hub and rebuild :(

Ahhh man. One of those builds. I know exactly how you feel. Had it many times myself, haha.

Looks like a great bike so far. Good luck!

Looking good Ian. I've still to get my little project to finish with the cassette I bought off you. Just a little taster of what's to come for the colour scheme on my sons 20" bike. It's also going to include deore discs, a spinner air fork, Kore bars, stem, pedals and hopefully soon a pair of Kore Mega 20" wheels when they get to the UK as well as some other nice bits and pieces. :D

Finally finished my son's project bike after waiting for the Kore components and wheels to arrive. He's going to have a great summer :D
More photos of the build are on my PB account.

Thanks guys. Ian the wheels are probably better than mine lol. The freehub also makes an awesome noise at speed. :D
