Hi,

Not sure if this is already done somewhere else on the forums? Thought it would be useful to let each other know what the trails are riding like. So to get started;

Little Baddow and Lingwood Commons (the XC area for riding in Danbury) is still holding up well today (9-12-11). Bit of spatter off the wheels but still fast rolling. The roots are evil though! The leaves are making it tricky to spot the trails sometimes too.

Anyway, if that's useful, post you're own bits about where you've been and how boggy/dusty(!) it is below.

Ta

Good thread, could also put down what tyres are on and how they cope with the conditions?

Epping was good on Satursday afternoon. Starting to get a little wet in areas but still a lot of dry parts out there.
if the weather doesn't chage to drastically should be good up until Xmas.

Slightly damp today, small puddles starting to form in the odd places and greasy in some bits round ponds/lakes/streams. Still fast rolling out there though and wet leaves when connering quick is the only problem.
mudx fr / 2.1 hr on the back.

Danbury common was still pretty dry this morning, a few soft patches but pretty good for December! The leaves away from the main runs are making things loose and interesting.

My tyre choice is a bit unusual - I've got a Spesh team control on the front (from about 2003) and a Michelin xtreme XC on the back. They seem to work OK though!

Works well on the north downs where its sandier / loamy and damper than epping.
Good in Epping if its damp or moist but 2,1 hr is poor on wet leaves will be swapping out the back for an advanyage or worn mudx for next Epping ride. Cant fault mudx up front, winter tyre, wet tyre, commuting in ice and snow tyre all good.

Real mix overbat broxbourne.first run was very slippy,but very good fun.the long uphill route I take was horrible,mud churned up by horses,hard work.but went across to wormly wood the long flowy section was great,and the uphill ftom that nice and dry.only done two loops as hangover was still looming.on a highroller up front,grips on roots etc well.also great round corners,but slippy through muddy straights.cant fault continental Barron at rear.great traction.
