New rigid forks for the Hardrock... to replace the pretty rigid Suntour fork shaped objects :)

Not too interesting I hope ;)

I was getting about an inch of movement on an average Epping ride out of the Suntour forks and they weigh 2.8kg. The carbon forks are .8kg so I thought I could live without lunking an extra 2kg about for that much error compensation.

Stock it weighed 14.2kg (31lb)... wheels, forks and xt cassette saved 2.5kg so 11.7kg . Bars and lighter tyres say 200g ??? so I reckon it's about 11.5kg (25.5lb)

Should be much more fun in the Epping mud :)

Man maths allows me to ignore the 10kg the rider could lose

Looks really good.
If you want more places to loose weight?
Crank, grips, seat post, seat and disc rotors. you could get that down to under 10 i would say.
My 29er HT was 9kg on rigid forks

Very nice, I am very close to buying the same forks for my hard tail. They do look good on the bike but still waiting for the On-one 29er carbon fork to come in stock.

They're all on the list VW :) although I'll just replace parts as they break / wear out. First on the list is the crank set probably look at 2 or 1 by 10. Going on how long the original BB lasted that should be in about 6 months :eh:

Malc... I was tempted by the On One forks but the Exotic ones were £35 cheaper.....

On the car park test it rides so much better... weekend will tell for sure ;)

Yes.. but if I were to ride it on the road I'd have to wear Lycra.... I don't think anyone wants that :lolno:

Very nice, i need a straight steerer though. Had a look over and they dont seem to make them which is annoying.

I think the £35 is worth spending to get the full carbon fork rather than the alloy/carbon mix.
