They sure arnt, but i bought complete set of Shimano Deore for approx £60, (although the RRP is about double that, i then got some decent hydraulic cable for another £20 or so, rotors were then about £10 each.

Try somewhere like Superstar.com for cheap decent rotors and pads or do a search on Ebay.

At £170- ad says brake set- is that front AND rear or lever and calliper?

It's the whole set. Front and rear discs, calipers and both levers. Quite a good deal.

Hayes stroker half price on chain reaction at the moment so about 80 quid (plus rotors) for set. Got a rear one and seems fine so far.

I'm thinking that it'll transfer well in a year or two onto a FS frame and not be too dated.

I'll need a 180 rear disc (frame limits) and fitting kit, so it'll be about £200 in total.

This is forumla's top of the range kit and levels in price with shimano's mid level kit.

Anyone know whether to go for the formula or shimano based on all this so far?
