2016 started very badly for me. First ride of the year in Epping forest went horribly wrong. The thick mud and grass clogged up my XTR derailleur, sucked it into my rear wheel ripped out two spokes out of my Hope wheels and snapped the derailleur clean in two. I had to tap dance home in my cleats and looked like a right prick!

Not to worrie though... I treated myself to a nice new enduro bike to celebrate my 30th.

I usually ride Epping forest, Swinley, peaslake and am really needing to pit myself against others as I ride solo. I stopped using strava as I felt it was unrepresentative and you can only judge yourself on who else is riding the trails that day. Anyway. I really need to find a group to ride with on a Sunday.

You did make me laugh with "I had to tap dance home in my cleats and looked like a right prick!"

And yes you deffo need to find somewhere else to ride other than Epping otherwise you've wasted your money on an Enduro bike!!!

If you've a car then get yourself an invite onto one of the Danbury/Chelmsford rides or make your way to Warley/Brentwood one Sunday morning and join in with that crew.

And to the Epping riders - I'm not disrespecting the place, I know it's hard going as speed and blah, blah, blah...

There are shed loads of rides & groups mate, just jump in & good luck!

Welcome along Billy Elliot (sorry I could not help it). I'm out sunday over Bredgeberry if you want to join us. What bike did you get in the end?
