Hi everybody, I'v just bought a mountain bike as I'm getting bored of goin to the gym for fitness. Never been off roading before but really fancy trying it out . Can any one recommend a good route around Broxbourne/Hertford Heath for a complete novice.

Hi mate.done a few rides in broxbourne but havnt been for a while.there are some good single track loops starting from east.car park opposite paintball, zap.I'm sure if you dig around on here starting at the ride maps I'm sure you will find some endomondo routes.

Welcome, I live in Cheshunt and do Broxbourne woods a lot.

Here's a route I do weather permitting, although it's a bit of a nettle/bramble fest for portions of this route, but you should be able to piece together some ok rides though.

Welcome Kev,

i live between WGC and Hertford and been around Broxbourne woods alot last year , not so much this year due to the weather and bike problems.
but there are some nice tracks there which a complete novice can do to learn about the joys of mud. one word of warning you can hear the Lions from the Zoo in there which i learnt on a night ride in there , ive never pedaled so hard and fast in my life :)

as Mooh said its a bit of Nettle/bramble fest on the out the way single track.
once my rear brake decides to free it self i be happy to have a ride there with you or anyone else...

Steve
