Just got back from a good session there with Matt. It's running very fast, really easy to get loads of air (too much at times) on the runs. Had some great comedy stacks, first on the hip, then on a run when I clipped my pedal trying to keep up with Matt - landed in a huge patch of stinging nettles and sheared off my shifter, then again on a run when I went way too big on the last jump and almost landed on a tree. Battered and bruised, I think I need a drink!

Great session yesterday, the trails are super quick but still nice and grippy. Gutted I can't make Sunday.
Hope you're not too beat up today Steve?!

Had some painkillers for my neck - can't move my head to the left at all and my leg is stiff, other than that I'm fine!

Had a look at shifters, weirdly the X9 is now cheaper than the X7. Going to try and pick one up later.

Got a spare X7 shifter going you can have if you want. It's just sitting in my garage picking up dust.

Cheers Tim, working today and didn't get a chance to get to the shop. How much you want for that?

It's yours. Only issue with it is I can't seem ti find the clamp bolt - I'll have a hunt around tonight, unless you've got one from the previous (presumably broken?) shifter?

Thanks Tim, owe you one.

I've got the bolt, the clamp stayed on! Shifter held on with cable ties at the moment.

No worries Trax - I'll bring it along with me tomorrow.

So long as you've got a gear cable and the clamp bolt, you should be good.

Great ride on Sunday - danbury is rolling super sweet and fast. Despite not catching up with Paul, Steve and Tim (nice to meet you mate.. post up if ur riding Aston in the next couple of weeks as I haven't been there since the race) it was a good sesh. Paul and Steve were showing niiiiice style on that kicker at the top of the runs and Tom and Nigel finally got the lower table and mini run beyond it dialed. Looking forward to heading back when im back to 100%.

Jon

Just joined the site (any suggestions for a better username pm me).

Danbury is my new favourite place, what a day, sweet bone dry runs, warm weather and sunshine (when most of the country was in rain). Lots of airtime! A rare treat.

I see what you mean about the table top - hard and low is obviously my technique (along with fast and generally too loose obviously).

Danbury rocks!

Pity our paths only crossed briefly, but good to see you all again. Wasn't feeling 100% either after Friday, but had a really good morning and no off's. I'll have to session that table next time, only tried a couple of times but didn't manage to clear it.

Tom - you're the only person who ever rides that sketchy jump over the path by the ski jump (last 2 pics above). I haven't seen anyone try that since you were there last year!

I'll be there again Sunday morning if anyone's around.

Yeah it was an awesome morning - would have been good to meet the rest of you for a bit longer, but by the time you turned up I'd already stacked twice due to the new clip pedals and catapulted myself over the handlebars off of that rooty drop-off on the way back to the car park.

I can barely move my right leg, but made some good progress which I'm happy with on the jumping front.

Karve - I'm actually headed over to Aston this Saturday provided my thigh heals up if you fancy coming out. Saturdays tend to be a lot less busy than Sundays, because the latter is when all the 'shop' crews come out to play.

Let me know...

Tim

P.S. May see you again on Sunday depending on how ruined I'm feeling after a full day at Aston...

Cheers lads!

Sweet pics!!!

was loving danbury yesterday. wont be out for a few weeks but may make it down there one evening a week while its sooooo fast!

that path jump is really hard to get right. you need so much speed, probably why people don't bother.

felt like i was twice as high on that double!
