Post subject:  Wednesday 8th Enfield Lock to Thames Ride
All,

Doing this ride again on Wednesday 8th with some work colleagues, We start at the Enfield Island Village, Cannal lock, by the now burnt out Riffles Club and go all the way down to the Thames at Canary Wharf and then back again..

Having shown my work lot this ride and the virtues of Strava route tagging, they now want to beat some of my times along the way...(nothing wrong with a bit of pace setting :lolno: :lolno: )

So we will aim to be at the lock by about 5:45/6pm i'sh for some dusty tow path strava bashing leg stretch.....

I might be up for this it's been awhile that I don't get on my hardtail, but I'd meet you guys by Lea Bridge Road. I'll give you a shout.

What kind of pace are you doing? I'd ride from Cheshunt and catch you up if it was around 10mph

Pace is about between 10 and 20 mph but varies... Like to do odd sprint and then meander along.. Gets the heart pumping....

Did the same sort of route a few weeks back!great ride on a summers evening :thumbup: Waiting for my shift pattern to swap over!!

I think the way up is nicer, going up to Royston, Ware... Nice scenery and nice pubs on the way.

Do it at this time as its after work and we leave from my offices, so easier at this time....

I do know another good xc route that starts at same place but goes up the canal towards Ware then off over into the country side towards Harlow (good disused railway section for some good speed) and loops back down again. about a 33 mile loop.. if anyone up for it could look at doing so one weekend....

Ok I'll get some more work colleague's involved make a good day of it.. know a good pub we stopped at for lunch and pint :smile::smile:

Based on the fact I wouldn't be able to leave Cheshunt until 6.30, I'd have to keep a fairly high pace to catch up, so it doesn't look that feasible.
