Bacon and a big hill... what more could you want ;)

10:00am at Bury Rd car park. http://goo.gl/maps/BFzFT

The car park linked looks a bit different now as it's in two halves now... rough part and a tarmac part. Either part is fine as you can see one from the other.

I'll be in a blue VW Transporter.

All welcome :)

Hi all, would a humble beginner be welcome to come along? I cycle to work but to date a gravel track has been as exciting as it's been - keen to change that! Also assuming my fixie isn't appropriate, any thoughts on where I could hire a bike would be much appreciated. I'm in central London so will probably get the train from Liverpool Street.

Cheers

I see.... closet roadie then

Singlespeed ... The route we're ridding right now is fireroad, tarmac and tow path, the fireroads are a bit muddy but only inches deep rather than feet that the Epping single track quagmire is.. so you might get away with your hybrid. The fixed single speed bit.... couple of interesting climbs in the ride but really comes down to how fit you are ;)

Couple of hire places linked on this thread - http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/introduce-yourself/ride-t5241.html

10:00 am start might be a problem though?

Looks like the hire places don't open until 10, so might have to give this one a miss.
