So the plan is.... hill, hill, flat, twisty, bacon, flat & twisty, hill ( big and up ) hill ;)

10:00am at Bury Rd car park. http://goo.gl/maps/BFzFT

The car park linked looks a bit different now as it's in two halves now... rough part and a tarmac part. Either part is fine as you can see one from the other.

I'll be in a blue Ford Transit or red Hyundia.

All welcome :)

Extra bit of info given the randomness of the last ride.... here's a google map link to the cafe https://goo.gl/maps/rraQp . If you get separated from the group wait here and eat bacon until everyone turns up  That's assuming that you get lost before the bacon.... after the bacon you're on your own ;)

I cant make it this Sunday. I will be in Rendlesham Forest for the MSG with my son. I am sure there will be some bacon there too.

Shame Whytey, enjoy MSG though... be interested to hear about the kids bit. Did you have a look at those Inbred frames?

Hi Alejo.... welcome along :)

Just so you know we'll be heading down into the Lee valley rather than riding in Epping as it's too muddy right now. Should still have some fun though ;)

No worries, I will let you know how we get on.

Yes, I did look at Inbred but its the orange Ragley Piglet 2 that my son wants, He loves it in the orange as it matches his BMX and is sold to the piglet & the dummy on the top tube! Obviously, on things like this he pretends not to understand numbers & prices but thankfully, CRC have the frame at £225 so a good discount from the original £350.

Geometry-wise, Piglet is more slack than Inbreed - 67 instead of 70. Also has room for longer travel fork if & when required. I think I am swayed towards the Piglet too. Got to love a piglet with a dummy, cant blame him.

As a novice in bike building I am open to any advice or suggestions though. Cant make my mind up if I should go for 1x10 or 2x10. I worry he may need that granny ring on the uphill.....or I go for T28 or T30 single ring??

Yes I accept how important colour is when you're 10 ;) and the Piglets a nice bike I looked at one before I got my 456.

Re the gears... I was going to go for 1 by 10 with a T28 when I build Irvings with the option to add a front mech and extra cog if needed, so a 2 by 10 front crank but with one ring and a bash.

I was looking at buying something like this... http://www.merlincycles.com/shimano-deore-m615-double-groupset-64454.html?utm_campaign=googlebase-GB&utm_source=googlebase&utm_medium=shopping&utm_term=Mountain+Bike+Groupsets&gclid=CJOq1KaPkr0CFXMPtAod7VIAZg

Happy to give you a hand to build it up if you want, I've got the tools, bike stand and workshop which makes life easy... we should get most of it done in an afternoon.

Thanks mate. much appreciated. I will give you a shout when I have got all the pieces together...bit by bit. We will see again before then anyway. I will go for T28 single I think for simplicity. The frame already has the ISCG mounts for the chainguide.
