Post subject:  Bedford park and Havering country park
Hi all,
Took my dogs over to the Bedford Park Sat am.
Nice tracks over there . Bit woody with the trees across the paths .
ups and downs interesting route .
From the car park visitor section head right into the trees and follow your nose down wards.
Keep going pass aalong fences etc up a narrow strectch and back of Bower House ( old Ford training area.) cross road at the orange tree pub ( I think )
Into the Country park lots of fire roads and tracks into woods pretty fast then back same route the down hill section at the rear of Bower House was fast and bumpy and needed alot of concentration .
Back to the deers follow round via the visitor centre back down through woods and to lake across meadows up back along the road meadows till reach another woody section again pretty quick .
to car park /visitor centre.

Some where different and enjoyable -horse deer and wild life .

Havering atter bower near to collier row -Gallows corner heading towards harold hill.

It's fine in the dry, but most of the time it's very muddy there, it's also very popular with dog walkers. Hog Hill (Redbridge Cycling Centre) is just down the road too, which is great fun (quick video here https://vimeo.com/90755707 from last week) - just as good as cyclopark, less rocks, more speed.

Difference is one is free and the other you pay for The country park opposite is pretty good as well.

I know where u are bob! rode havering CP and Bedford quite a lot, then up to Hainault pass the stables along the fire road ! usually pretty quite that route!Havering CP has some fast sections ;)

Hi,
It would seem pointless coming across areasonable ride and not letting my friends no.
The two camps of keep it quite and good and common and crowded.
maybe a discussion point .
Also how do I know which is a private knowledge place for locals and one not been riden and rated..
Please begin discussion as would be interested to see the out come.
Now should I tell about others ....

It was a silly post of mine really. :oops: I just thought it kind of funny that Simon was saying how nice a quiet a route is an then publishing the fact. Would be highly hypocritical of me to keep things secretive, as I joined this forum partially to find new routes and trails to explore.

IMO the more the better and I would like to see more young cyclist out instead of on xbox (another post maybe). The only thing is, I kind of feel that we're not welcomed anywhere. On the roads, many drivers would prefer us not to be there. Off road, walkers (esp. those with dogs) would prefer us not to be there. Footpaths - (often singletrack) are just forbidden full stop. Bridleways and fire-roads are good and have never had an issue. Horse riders appear more accommodating, but if a route becomes popular then I'm not so sure. Then there's the purpose made tracks, these are OK, but I prefer more natural surroundings. (... I'm a skinflint too ;) )

Totally agree.
That is why I said it should be debated.
I really think it is good to get out and about as different tracks can be quite challenging.
on Sunday I was riding over the marshes and at the ramp at Rainham stn , there is a worn path (walkers ) down the sides -double .
I have done this slope /enbankment loads of times now.
I went down on Sunday and it was wet bit of braking back slid infront of the front wheel and down on my side .
I laughed because all I could remember was in the last race a chap behind saying let it roll let it roll (fraustratingly for him )
I new that was what I should have done rolled not braked.

like the new spots different conditions you can learn a lot.

I can asure everyone I am still learning and it is begining to stick in places add to that abrave pill and away I go.

This is where I go most evenings when possible. Barely see anyone apart of horse riders occasionally. You can easily do 10 or 20 mile route between the 3 three parks.

This is also one of my rides as I live close to them all. its not bad and some guys have started to make little jumps and things in Bedfords
I have a video of a route which covers all 3 parks. If anyone wants to see let me know and I can upload it.
