I will be doing this ride from work so if anyone else wants to join in they can. Meet at Enfield Lock by what was the Riffles club now demolished. I'll be leaving from work in Innova Park so its about 5 mins away.

Looking at about 5:40/6:00 start.
Its about a 26 mile route and feature less and fairly flat as mostly down the canal tow path. but good for a mile muncher and stamina test.
Will take just over two hours to do (dependant on pace) so get back in good time before it gets too dark...

The problem is not coming back to Chelmsford, it is bringing the bike with me in the morning to Liv St. Thinking about it, I still need to get to Enfield during pm rush hour. Its not gonna work, is it?

Unfortunately not during the morning & afternoon peak hrs. I saw the signs at Chlm station this pm.

Chatman, what if I leave my bike with you the day before, will you have room for both mine & yours?

Ok, good to know. Maybe the staff turn a blind eye. When i bought the bike in London, at Liverpool Street they would not let me until 7pm so i thought its the same in Chelmsford since the signs are up. Sorted then.

The front derailleur got damaged today and it has moved - 6 miles to the end of the ride with half the gears. I will try to fix it tomorrow, if not then I get CycleUK at the station to fix it so should be OK for Wednesday.

Chatman, how easy is the route to follow once you get to Tottenham hale? I assume its route 1 all the way?
Cant get to the start on Thursday in time so thinking of doing it from Fishers Green further up the river On Saturday

Had a look on Greater Anglian Trains to see what they say

Restrictions of non-folding bikes on peak services

For the comfort and safety of all passengers, only folded cycles can be accommodated during busy times. This applies to the following Stratford and London Liverpool Street station services:

These restrictions apply Monday to Friday, except Bank Holidays.
• AM – any trains arriving at Stratford or Liverpool Street between 0745 and 0945*
• PM – any trains departing from Stratford or Liverpool Street between 1630 and 1830*

Very easy to follow the route, when you get right down by Canary Wharf you turn left by the big grey bricked curved wall.. Go through small park and cross road and through gap and your at Canary Wharf by the boat taxi dock.... Have rest admire view then head back....

I've not done the route since last year so any diverts in place I wouldn't know... But do know the route very well in case of divert.

The latest I can get on the train with a bike to Enfield Locks is 4.12pm from Liverpool St. Not allowed thru the gates until 6.30 after that. What are the chances that you may skip work a tad early Chatman? I reckon I could be there by 4.40pm. Otherwise I can do a warmup ride up the tow path for a bit and back down again in time to join you. Not fussed, I know where the cafe is by the canal ;-)

Cant really finish work until 5:30pm and as I'm going to be leaving from right outside the office. No chance of skipping out early I'm afraid.

Weather looks a bit suspect for tomorrow so bring a waterproof.

I'll PM you my mobile number...
