Ian are you saying its a long way because of the weight or tyre drag, my fatty is lighter than both my other bikes

do you think its better not to take the fatty?

maybe we can do the fatties somewhere else, another day

just had a master plan, im sure someone can help me out if i get knackered ands ride the fat bike for me:-)

You wont fall behind mate. The pace is not too quick but I guess you are also running 32T chainring like Agent Orange so it may feel a bit like a spinning class.

Im just deciding whether to order a 34T or 36T chainring from crc.
im a little bit embarrassed to say that i havent spun out on the flat on the 32T ( oh the shame)

Unless you will be doing a lot more climbing than riding flats on the fatty, I would say 36T in the front since you already have 42T at the back for the occasional steep climb.

I am hoping to work from home on Wednesday to avoid getting delayed like last time.

Just been out on mine with the kids, I think putting a few more psi in will help with the drag maybe 15?

Working in London Wednesday and possibly on an early finish (if I can escape) , might get down to this ride if possible.

I sold the moonlander last week, but got enough parts to build a second fatty for my son :-)

Ian,

I will make a donation to you on Wednesday night, it's the exact same thing that my younger brother died of (46), only last year on St George's day.
Great to you see you are doing this challenge, I would have done it as well but I'm booked to do the London to Brighton night ride for the British Heart Foundation (in memory my brother Paul)......
So I was hoping to get a few (lot) of sponsors as well....

Take care.....We only get 1 go at life, we ALL should make the most of it.......

Shelfside.........Pete..

Cheers Pete, it was a mate of mine who died 3 years ago at a DH event while camping in his van overnight. Shocked isn't the word.

For the Thurrock loop? In Bannatynes car-park... they have lights and security and everything...

Never had a problem before!

They do in the bit at the front adjacent to the main road, not so much on the side we parked this week. The coppers that turned up paid us a bit of attention as well until they realised we were loading bikes and not nicking them

Ian, Pete, hats off to both of you.

Pete, you know I have been tempted to do the 60 mile night ride Lon-Brighton since we spoke about it during the South Downs ride. For the cause, I will buy the ticket tonight and join you for the ride on 12th July (even if it means sharing the ride with many roadies).

I could have joined Ian too but I dont think I can manage 300m swimming let alone 1200m + 50 mile bike ride. I would happily do 100 mile ride instead. Having said that, I have made a donation earlier on today so I am pleased that it means something to someone.
