Lester, It was YT Industries I was talking about yesterday although it sounds very similar to Whyte. Its the Capra Comp 650b bike I am after. Was watching it for some weeks but hesitated because August delivery was too far away. Then I thought lets get it. Checked last week and it was gone. Next delivery is now late October!!! I did call them up but they could not squeeze it in for August. Scheisse :(

So, I wait or go for Whyte G150 but I dont wish to spend more money to convert to 1-11 though. CAPRA Comp was just right specs-wise and geometry. Dilema!!

I would wait for the Capra.
Everybody raves about them.

The PRO has both BOS fork & shock. The COMP has Pike & Monarch. Both run 1x11. The guys at YT told me to go for the COMP unless I constantly play around with the fork & shock settings. BOS apparently is much more customizable, made for the Pro's. For simplicity, Pike is better. And I like the looks of COMP better.

They told me that it was an UK mag review 2 weeks ago that triggered a wave of orders. Just enough to leave me hung & dry. Should have listen to Mr Decker but I thought he was just trying to sell it to me.

Capita looks stunning not convinced after riding 1x11 on demo bikes it's for me. Possibly ok for mountains just not for Essex.
Carbon also scares me on the enduro in saved only 250g I think and could fracture if you had a big off ski :) looks good though whytey it's also 6month wait at the moment

I was going to put a 36 or 38 ring in front, same as in my hardtail. I dont ride hard enough to worry about the frame. There is more chance it will snap under my weight ;-) Carbon was never the selling point, overall the specs are good, specially the wheels. Wider rims and the e13 hubs have bigger bearings and can take a beating under my body weight and last longer. If August was too far away, imagine how feel about end of October. By then, 2015 bike would be out...more dilema.

Stumpie, sorry to have hijacked the post mate.

@stumpie @ wv-surfbum - Going back to the fatties, the On One baby fatty is out. 1x10 but 15kg and £900 (ouch). Kids gonna get spoiled but he wont be having one before me, that would be an insult.

@ Whytey
I got the fatty bundle for £500 which you can swap out with any of your other bikes you just need to get a fat crankset everything else fits. If you do that ask on one if you can swap the original fork for the carbon fork. It's only £50 extra but we'll worth it in looks and weight which is what I did. So for £550 I got the frame, wheels, headset, tyres, inner tube, seat clamp and carbon fork. If you get the medium I'm sure you could drop the seat and it will fit your son !!

I just built him the Piglet that cost me an arm and a leg (should have seen my wife's face when she discovered the parts' receipts   :x ). He is not getting another one yet but maybe I could give it a go. I need to put aside for the trail bike but I will give you a buzz tomorrow.

I booked a 2 to 1 session with Jedi btw, I said Lester was so impressed he made me do it...sort of ;)

Jedi, great you won't regret it. If you want to borrow a full suss for the day let me know :-)
If you get anything from on one you have 28 days to return it if you change your mind
