I don't have a lot of access to a car lately.

What local options do I have to Chelmsford.

I live Broomfield side if town.

I am aware of Danbury and have spent a lot of time on the common.
I have been for a lap about hylands too

Any other obvious ones I'm missing?

Galleywood common is there, limited but you can link it into a loop of hylands.
Danbury has a lot more than the common and with some simple exploration and liberal use of footpaths can be linked up well. check strava for the trails in the woods, be courteous to dogwalkers and careful around blind bends. If in doubt plead ignorance.
The BMX track nr great baddow is pretty fun too and can be linked into a ride.

Been for a scoot about over Danbury before was good fun.
Galley wood is a good shout. Gets me out for a bit without taking all day.

Don't mind showing you all i know of Danbury Andy, can loop up a good 20 milelier with room for 30 odd miles if you go down every bit of single track

You can easily also cycle down to the Flitch Way and do some of that route... just as a mile muncher.

There is also some single tracks and bridleways around near me as I live not far from you Andy, I can loop out to Wilingale and back on a good XC loop all in can be about 25 - 30 miles :high5:
