Leave the headset in the freezer for a few hours before fitting, will go in like a dream them.

I have a headset tool if anyone wishes to use it. I think Chatman has it at the moment. Think it can also to pressfit BB's and I was going to try and see it it would work on hub cartridge bearings too.

bs thats less than a quid!

you could make one for naff all but for an all in solution thats pretty good.
cone shaped presses would be better

OK, Maybe I exaggerated slightly... But it's still just a short length of threaded bar, a couple of nuts, couple of big penny washers, 2 pieces of cut nylon and the top turn thingy ;)

I'm selling bits on eBay to fund purchases (as im a student) I need new knee/shin pads then I'm not sure wheelset or dropper seatpost opinions my wheels are off a 2004 rockhopper.
Oh as I've written this pads and wheelset then sell the old ones wheels for the seatpost :)

If I had to prioritise, I'd get the dropper post first... But depends on what riding you're doing..
I bought my post 2nd hand from a mate not long before a day out @ Surrey Hills.. It paid for itself in that 1st day :)

Where are you based? Might be some one local who can help but it really is putting a round peg in a round hole, just clout it really really hard!

Sent using the force...

Totally local xc at the moment I've had a few years out and with two under 5s at home I'm not given many away day passes :(
I ride a 456 so 27.2 seatpost so will have to be new I think
On my enduro I think the post would have been awesome but not sure on a 120mm hardtail. Everyone I rode with had one but I was not convinced it was not because Alan sold them in his shop.

You'd be surprised...

I have mine on my 100mm HT Rockhopper. Basically, whenever I was tackling anything downhill on local trails I'd just drop the seat out of the way.

Only trouble is its the wrong size for my FS :(

Oh no I don't think ill ever go back to FS after being forced to sell my enduro because as I'm a mature student I'm loving being back on a hardtail relearning skills that the FS did not punish you for :)

No, I mean't you'd be surprised how much you'd use the dropper post on ANY bike.

I'm just grumbling that the dropper I have will only fit my RockHopper and not the FS which I ride all the time now.
