Rode it at the opening on saturday
didn't actually flow as well as i expected as a 'pump' track the lips were all quite sharp and didnt pump that nicely, more aimed for popping off them and jumping
was still fun though and as it gets ridden i'm sure the lips will wear over and start to flow nicer

Dam that looks pretty fun. Is there still a 4x track at aston hill tempted to take a trip down?

I reckon a lot of pump tracks are aimed more towards bmx as they seem to be built pretty tight, might just be me though...

I think your right there especially the council built ones like the one over by Danbury. Personally I think the one at Chicksands is a nice happy medium with super deep berms you can really get some speed out of. But the line choices on that Aston one look endless really want to check it out.

Going a little off topic did anyone see the scott tour de pump they did. some of the tracks looked so much fun.

Incase anyone wanted to check this out on the weekend (like i planned to) Aston Hill just posted this on their facebook page.

Quote:
In order to ensure the pumptrack remains a permanent feature we need to close it for a short while to let it settle. The weather's been very dry lately and it needs some water to help the surface bed in. Don't worry, there will be plenty of fanfare when it's open for good!

In the meantime, PLEASE DO NOT RIDE THE PUMPTRACK. Riding while the surface is settling will ruin it for everyone else, and anyone caught will be escorted off the Hill and membership, if applicable, revoked.

Thinking about paying aston hill a visit on the weekend to ride the pump track (although maybe not if the weather man is right) but is the rest of the park (downhill runs and that) doable on a 4x bike or is it really rough? Also do they still have a 4x track ?
