So i've got a magicshine and also a hope light and have used them on the bars and on my helmet, but I fing they are both too heavy really and keep pulling my helmet about on my head!

So what small, powerful and lightweight torch can I mount on my helmet? Im guessing probably a pencil torch would be best. Any recommadations. I know there is a dedicated "light" thread but it's 15 or so pages long!!

I've bought one too to add to my collection! Not arrived yet though. Reports are that it's 134g or roundabout that and it an ideal helmet light.

I've got one, not tried it on the noggin yet. But it is lighter than the older single LED "magicshine" style lights (P7, T6, U2 etc), so would work well for a headlight.

If you want something lighter, then maybe this would do the job (looks 100g lighter according to the shipping weight....)

T6 LEDs are plenty bright enough for a decent night ride at pace.

It does not however come with a battery, so you would need one of them too!

I don't have the second light, so can't say if it is actually any lighter, but it would appear to be on the face of it. It is the same price as the one VW has suggested though...

If I remember, I'll weigh the unit this evening.

I'm using the SolarStorm linked above and it's nice and light as well as cheap, you might need to pick up a magicshine helmet mount for it.

Exposure joystick. Will last for years and you won't notice it's there except for the beam of light.. Also Doubles as a good, but expensive torch to avoid stepping in dog jobbies while out doing walkies,

Got one of those on my bars, really good light, can't fault it really, in big open spaces you can see the difference in the beam pattern to more exotic / expensive lights but thundering down tight single track there is nothing in it !
