what size is yours matt?

good info by the way a commencal meta has been at the forefront of my choices

Mines a median. After a years worth of use I would say the meta AM suits me down to a T, I can do a bit of everything without it being out of its depths. I have hardened it up with the dropper post, chain guard, stubby stem and trail tyres, I plan to add lighter (stronger) wheel (maybe mavic sx) and drop down to 1x10 to get it to a fighting weight :lolno:

If you are more looking to do gravity fun go for the SX model if you can afford. Everything I have/will be doing is what the SX is, its just I don't need the extra travel as I don't weight much myself.

I've been pondering for a while chopping in the demo for something more versatile
I realistically am going to struggle to put the money together to buy a decent 2nd bike so I am wondering about selling the demo.
The demo is pretty much dream spec with Saint drive train, mavic rims, xt brakes, renthal bars etc
So I should see a decent return on it
The replacement would have to be pretty capable
I like to jump a lot in a dh/freeride sort of scenario
I want to be able to pedal the bike too as I have never ridden a trail centre which isn't an uplift style place

Any suggestions would be great. I doubt I'm in new bike territory and I'm pretty against buying a bike that I can't test ride first so yt etc are out I think

Budget would be about 1500 maybe more I'm not overly sure what the demo will fetch

Hey Andy, I was in the same position this year, after a few trips to the alps I've realised I just can't justify having the TR450 as I was only using it once a month. For me I just couldn't justify having it so after some painful thinking I sold it..! I have since made my blur trc a bit heavier to cope with the uplift days, Aston etc and it's fine, although it's defo not the same as having a 38lbs er. It's very unstable in the air, unlike the DH which just went where you put it. For me there is no such bike that "does it all" and believe me I have had many (of which I get ribbed constantly for). I had to weigh up what sort of riding I prefer, trail or DH and now I've hit 40 the decision was easy mate. I do love the nuke proofs and may be a happy medium, although I've never heard of one being built up under 32lbs...hope it helps ya...!

I'd love to go for a Bronson but way way out of the price range

I hear you damo it's never gonna be as solid as the demo but it will give me more options other than pushing up

Shame that's a medium Matt!

Best spec bike I have seen new for £2400 is Canyon Strive AL8.0 Race. Buying direct from manufacturer saves you a lot.

I have just got this as I want to mix freeride and bit of enduro type riding. X01 11 gear drivetrain, Rockshox Pike forks Rockshox Monarch rc3 rear shock, Renthall cockpit, Rockshox stealth reverb seat post the list goes on! Check out their website https://www.canyon.com/_en/mountainbike ... tml?b=3263

If you need more info about the bike or process just get in touch.

And I don't know if you or anyone are interested, I will have a Santa Cruz VP Free 2007 for sale shortly with brand new Saint cranks, King headset, Renthall Fatbars (also brand new) and kevlar renthall grips, Sun Ringe camo rims on Hope hubs, Rockshox 180 Domains (almost new), Crank Bros Kronolog dropper seat post, Charge seat, XT rear derailluer (pretty old to be honest), Hope Mono mini brakes. new BB, Straitline silent chainguide (this is awesome by the way).

Contact me if anyone interested.

cheers

If only I had enough money to finish the bugger off...this new contract job has screwed up my finances.
