Post subject:  Drivetrain swap
Im changing my whole drivetrain soon. (Chain rings,chain,cassette) I run avid flack jackets so the shifting is still smooth am I being lazy not changing the cable inners whilst I'm working on the bike ?

Are these the best to go with my flack jackets ?

I've even purchased brake pads with the feel of my avids always poor I generally wait for metal on metal

Any decent cable should be fine, the important things are to make sure the cable does not kink when installing. Little bit of PTFE lube helps as well on the cable.

Should never get down to the metal of the brake pad as that can damage the rotor. Same avids (jucys) are notorious for being crap and need constant bleeding. Worth getting sinter or even Kevlar brake pads for good braking and good longitiveity.

^ I'm only kidding second set of avids but was on a tight budget building the bike and only £60 for the pair new. After two sets of avids you become a brake bleeding maestro :)
I like Hayes striker trail out of all I've tested I like the lever barel adjusted rand the fit and forgetness :)
