Brad that looks dam good. Great job. What did you use to do it?

The frame holder with the GHETTO metal bar and pencils is epic!

Ill have a rummage in the shed and see what bits I have knocking about.

Yes you can use masking tape but get a good quality tape like 3M. The reason being is that low quality tapes can be really sticky and can pull off paint when removed. The best way to do it is to print off the star shapes and cut them out. Then lay down masking tape onto something smooth like glass with a small over lap to the size of the star and then draw around the printed star onto the tape. Then cut out the star with a scalpel or sharp blade. You can then peel off the star and put onto the bike for spraying. This way you have a positive and negative stencil. I hope that you were able to understand my explanation. Also if you think the tape is too sticky just put it on your trousers a couple of times and it should be a little less tacky.

Of course Chris I love spamming, almost as much as you like losing pedals lol. ;)
Bradley what do you mean cracked? Do you mean when they were removed? If so it sounds like there was to much paint sprayed on. Thin layers is the key with masking as the build up of paint can cause problems. One way of stopping it is to ensure the paint dries properly and then use a blade to go lightly around the stencil so the paint is cut leaving a sharp line. I have to do this to the masking on the helmets after clearcoating so paint isn't pulled off.

The paint seemed to be creasing when the paint was applied , i think i have sorted it so i will give it time to dry an sort it out tomorrow night :)
