Hey guys (apologies if this is in the wrong forum),

I'm trying to find out how many of you guys use cycle carriers at the rear of your cars and what make etc

I asked Mercedes how much it would cost for a tow bar to be fitted and I had half a heart attack..£1,000 they wanted and another £500 for their own brand 3 bike carrier.

I do like the Buzzrack models but my biggest issue is getting a reputable company to install a towbar.
Be grateful for any suggestions.

cheers

Ideally i would have a tow bar rack.

I currently use a 3 bike Saris Bones on our Corsa.

I have previously used Thule roof racks with freeride carriers.

All good options.

Roof is the least fuel efficient.

Tow bar is the most secure and easiest access

Boot rack is the cheapest and doesn't cause any damage to the vehicle.

Thanks guys.
My car is a salon and back seats don't fold.

Can you all give me some reputable company names who can do this for me and without voiding my warranty?
Cheers

I had a tow bar fitted and all electrics done on the Mistsi truck and it was £245 all in. I use a thule two bike rack on that.

Tow bars are cheap to get and installed, Mercedes are just making that lot up by over 500% probably......

I used http://www.jimstowbars.co.uk/ think the guy came in from Harlow, took him about an hour and half to fit the tow bar on the mitsi warrior truck, including the electrics, fitted at home.

I found that having a tow bar was very expensive so i fitted it myself, turns out its relatively straight forward (on a ford). Is always an option if you don't want to spent to much like me.
Iv also been recommended www.essextowbars.co.uk if you are looking for someone else to do the work.
