Hi just wondering what's better a kona stinky or kona howler. I ride jumps and a bit of like xc trial.

Both rather different and somewhat ancient in bike terms.

The howler is shorter travel so will pedal better. The stinky is a full on FR DH bike. Both are very old school

What's better for little xc jimping as well and what's the most travel I could go on the howler

You cant go for more travel than is recommended, you'll screw up the geometry or weaken the frame and risk a breakage.

The Stinky is longer travel as its a DH bike, but that's not its not really clear what you mean by 'Whats better for XC jumping', XC is quite removed from DJ bikes.

Best bet is to buy a standard cheap all rounder bike (maybe a hard tail) and then get a more specialised one when you know what you really want.

A decent trail bike will be able to do xc/trail riding and a dh day on the side, what is your budget? Just been worried though, one bike does not really do it all, my commencal is a great bike but its too heavy to be quick on the ups on xc and not enough travel and correct geometry for really steep dh. Agrree with all what's been said above

About £500 seen the howler for £500. I ride a bit of xc and little bit of basic trial with no jumps bigger that about 10ft
