Hi, some of you know I'm doing the HTR 550, a bike packing race in the Scottish Highlands.
The mass start is at 10am on Saturday 23rd and the link to follow is already up at trackleaders.

I've been riding some sections and it's a hell of a monster, with lots of hike a bike, waist water river crossings covering some remote and beautiful areas in the Highlands.

I'll try to update this thread with the kit and strategy to follow.

Riding as single speed and rigid fork after much thought.

To tick it as completed is a maximum of 8 days. Planning to finish around 5 days. There's a high percentagr of scratches on this race. We'll see. So far weather is bad, lots of rain and river crossings will be more difficult.. Fingers crossed.

....and I did wonder what was that 305km in Highlands done in 24hrs non stop two weeks ago. I thought that was crazy, then Javi says he is training for the big one!! WFT...anything bigger than that? Apparently yes.

Mate, you should be able to compete in Absa Epic alongside Kulhavy, Saucer & co.

Hahaa!! No, no. Those 305km were spread in 2 days and half. But the difficult terrain and strong wind slowed me down. Anyway, I wouldn't say no to ABSA Epic :p
