Hope sealed Headset are good for the price. Had one on my Orange. Now running a Chris King on the Yeti and that is really nice.

Is the Big Hit standard headset? Its not internal or tapered?

It's a 1 1/8" to 1 1/5" external tapered.

Same as my Yeti. I run a Chris King and think its a really nice headset and is in gold too!!!

I think Cane Creek and Dia Tech also do tapered from memory!

Forgive my ignorance, however, are you running Bomber 55's on your Big Hit? If so when you take them out the frame is the steerer tube tapered?

I didn't think they did the 55 with a tapered steerer, and if not you will need a 1 1/8th headset with a 1.5 to 1 1/8th reducer bottom cup!!

Thanks for that. The bomber are normal tube 1 1/8.i head a boxxer 2009 on it and the also are not tapeer tube. So the headset you post should be ok. Is it?

No it wouldn't.

I went on Eccles saying it was tapered but noticed that its running what i thought were straight 1 1/8 steerer forks which would mean the bottom cup on the above headset would be too big! I'm not sure if they do a reducer spacer or whether there is a different headset available! Will have a look.

If you get a chance you want a 1 1/8 headset with the bottom cup being a 1.5 to 1 1/8 reducer fitment and then you can run your normal 1 1/8 steerer forks.

Does that make sense? hahaa

Hope do a mix n match kit so you can get a 1 1/8 top cup and 1.5 to 1 1/8 reducer and in gold too!!!

And I went on what Specialized said:
Quote:
HEADSET
1-1/8" to 1.5" Threadless, alloy, cartridge bearing

but they run a Z1, which does have a tapered steerer.
