Why not fit them yourself? It's not too hard, depends on the car and kit you buy. |

I've had it done and one car is brand new with 100000mile warranty so did not want to void it and Renault electrics are so temperamental all new cars need a bypass relay and with a hitch cost not much difference in having it fitted rob |

Fair enough. If it was a Peugeot then I have the diag kit to program them properly. Needless to say I have a bit of experience with French car electrics! |

It's funny, I know French motors have a bad reputatioin but I have to say 18 months in with my Berlingo Cripple Wagon and I've no complaints. It get's serviced and I do things like branke fluid and cam belt when due. Nothing out of the ordinary at all. In fact my Motorway Munching VW CC is a pain in the arse by comparison! |

Yeah the belingo's seem to do well. My mum has a Y reg petrol one and has put 170000 on it and it's never missed a beat. I have 307SW and have 150000 on it. Serviced and driven properly they are no worse than others. VAG cars are starting to get a worse reputation! Takes a long time to change the reputation though, which is handy if you buy nearly new as they have high depreciation! |
