Hi everyone.

I'm based in Scotland and am home visiting family in Harlow for two weeks. Looking to ride some decent 3-5 hour rides, with plenty of technical riding. I used to ride at chicksands but not so freeride/jump keen anymore. Have been to eppin forest a few times but it seems to be a bit of a maze in there! Anyone have any suggestions of suitable riding spots. I'd be happy to tag along or meet up for a ride!

See you out there

Adam

Hello mate.. im sure your aware that there is not a lot in the SE which is "really" technical by scotland standards but that doesnt mean that we don't have fun trails  . Most of the technical stuff is reserved for the DH boys and as such is short and sweet.

Epping is indeed a maze and even in the current conditions can be a good blast if your out with a group that knows its way round. keep an an eye out here http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/mountain-bike-rides/ for rides out. Aston will allow you to cut together technical loops but they will be pretty short. The N downs offer the best riding this time of year but is a good hour away.

Hope that helps and feel free to tag along to any of the rides.

PS is this you http://www.progressionbikesscotland.com/ what sort of uplifts do you do... just one track or can you put together more of a day of local spots? we did this in September http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wRp8o-pE ... _embedded#! which took in 8 or so road serviced enduro trails and was Amazing.

Hiya,

Yes that's my company. We run a dedicated uplift service on a dh track but can guide on any number of other routes in the area or futher afield. There are some great secret singletrack descents that can be accessed from our door step or some decent trail centres all less than an hour away. We have also done a few uplifts at other trails which we can get to with our truck.

I hope to catch a ride with you guys before I leave, although I think we have just had our good day of weather for a while!

If anyone fancies a trip up please get in touch!

I will be heading over to Epping tomorrow (Wednesday). I guess getting there for about 9.30. Probably head to High Beach as I used to mess around there before I moved away. Sorry for getting back in touch so late on in the day Noel. If you fancy showing me around or joining me that would be great. Look for a big silver defender in the car park, or me with a multi coloured top on a trek remedy!
