Hi all, been watching this place for a little while just seeing what sort of organised rides are happening in or close to Brentwood. I've started MTBing again this year, been riding Thorndon twice a week for 6 weeks so far, starting to feel it all come back. I've been riding a cheap and nasty full sus bike for now, just to get warmed up on, should have a new bike next weekend, nothing too flash, but half decent hopefully.
I've been doing 2 laps of a balanced trail I ride at Thorndon, adds up to about 4.5 miles a lap, short, but I don't have to cross any roads
There's a couple of decent hill climbs as well, and a short blast through a field with some cows and goats 
I'll probably join some of you for a ride when I feel like I can keep up
