Hello everybody I'm Matt,
I used to live on my bike and was out at every spare moment, normally at high beach and those areas. I my main interest has always been downhill and dabbled in a bit of trials. I then moved to Southend, got married made a baby and never had the time to ride. I,ve recently got my biking mojo back and need to find a decent place to ride as I don't know of any in my area. I'm looking forward to many great biking days in 2011.

Hi Matt. Got a few mates from Southend and they usually ride Danbury, so I guess that's the nearest decent spot. There's usually a few of us riding there at the weekend, so check the rides forum.

Welcome Matt, Danbury will be your closest jump orientated place, but for a more XC route, try Hadleigh farm, (where the olympics are being held)

Welcome mate - Thorndon is worth checking out as well as Danbury - it has some excellent XC - although ive only ridden there once with meta Rich - and a ghetto DH area which might be worth checking out though I haven't been there for a while

there is a vid of us mucking around there a while back - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TZmkgdvP ... _embedded#!

Hey Matt you are welcome to tag along with us on Sunday at Thorndon. It's a mid pace ride as there are a few old gits (Inc me). Goes from 10am from the ski slope car park.

Hi Matt.

I'm in Southend too, I just started a new thread at http://www.essexhertsmtb.co.uk/introduc ... -t601.html
which has some pictures and routes at Hadleigh castle/Olympic Track, theres some nice lil DH bits plus you can combine various paths to make quite a long ride, althougjh I tend to be a bit lazy and jump on a train at Southend to Benfleet and then sometimes get back on a train at Leigh, or ride into Old Leigh for a beer if its a nice day. :)

Andy
