Hi all, recently got back into mountain biking after a 10 year break, have been over thorndon and epping a few times recently can't seem to find the good bits a decade on!

Hi Eric and welcome.

Not surprised you can't find the good bits, they all seem to be disappearing under GIANT stinging nettles !

I usually meet a mate at the kart track, 8.30 am on Saturdays.
Otherwise , think there are fairly regular weekend rides from the kart track about 10 ish.
