Post subject:  Chelmsford bike shop meet up and ride Danbury
Hello everyone, I work as a bike mechanic for one of the shops in Chelmsford and I'm going to be getting customers and non customers to meet up for some Danbury sessions and all round bike related hijinks over the next few months.
Probably going to be Sundays, meet new people, have fun on bikes, pub lunch etc... Let me know if your interested, and thanks for reading this post

I live locally, and i went for the first time in ages sunday morning, amazing that riding on my own now affects my ability to really commit, started to hit some of the new stuff, gave my self a scare and then the confidence had gone as i was on my own.
Know a few too many people that have come a cropper up there on their own.

Did notice that one of the magnetic tree's had gone though.

If the weather holds out I'm going down on Thursday and then hopefully get a group together on a Sunday in a week or two

All good cheers. Had to get over a lot of hurdles with the wife to get sorted. So I thought I'm going to spend even more to prove a point.
Might be able to get over Thursday just got to wait in for a couple of parcels. If not I'm free on Saturday.
What times do you meet up?
Remember to go easy as I'm old.

I normally try and get there between 11 and 12. As for shop rides probably meet up at 10 and ride over as a group but I haven't set them up properly yet.
As Vwsurf says it's more fun and a lot faster riding in a group than on your own. Commitment levels go way up.

Mechmonkey,

I ride up regularly with another rider Whitey, as we are both based in Chelmsford. Their is a nice route to ride upto to Danbury, do a few XC miles then play about on the bomb holes at the common. You've gotta make it a good trip and get the miles in.

We also have a good Chelmsford loop route, that could be done easily in the evenings, so summer is coming and warm days and excuse to sit in a pub beer garden half way round...

Chapman, I too ride from chelmsford along the river to danbury and I'm going tomorrow whatever the weather. The loop around chelmsford sounds good so would be cool to join you on that although my bike and body are better suited going downhill rather than up lol
