Post subject:  Bringing the bike to London...
Hi all,
I got into MTB this summer thanks to an enthusiastic friend and am determined not to drop it just because I go to uni in a big flat city, so here I am looking for some routes/rides near London for someone who is slowly improving? So far I've been riding in mid Wales (Nant yr Arian and Brechfa - if anyone has ventured that far into the hills) just to give an idea of what I'm used to... I'm not spectacularly speedy but I'm willing to have a go at most things & desperate to get better!

Welcome along, never riden Nant yr Arian but been up to Brechfa a few times, very steap on the climb ups. What bike did you get?

I ended up buying a rockhopper 29 (idk if thats anybgood being a newbie but it was just about in my student budget and has taken me over everything i've wanted so far...) I've only been to Brechfa once this summer :( but Nant is my local at home so I go up there regularly :) anywhere you'd recommend I can get to by rail near London/ more importantly anywhere I shouldn't go to alone?.... safety first etc :')

Welcome.

London is a big place so it really depends where you are as to what is closest to you. Best to click on the MTB trails at the top for a map of whats nearest you.
