Hi, I've registered for this race.
It's a 3 or 5 laps night race (3 miles lap) on Saturday evening at Black Park, near Slough. I'm doing the 5 laps one. I know it's at the other side of London. I'm taking train from Paddington to the stop before Slough and it costs £7.50.

Anyone racing?

Used to ride in black park as I lived over that way. Also it's near pinewood studios and they use the park for film stuff etc... All the carry on films where filmed in or around there.

Some good tracks in there and flinty under tyre for you....

Hi,
I did a really bad race, don't know the position maybe in the middle. The course was 3 miles flat (20 metres ascent per lap) with loads of twisty single track and fire roads. Nothing technical (locked front suspension after first lap) so it was all about power, which I lack and need to train that weakness.

Had a hard time. Not training much due to holidays. I couldn't rest much during this week, my rear tyre pressure was too low and felt like a snail. First lap full throttle in less than 15 minutes but the following 3 in 16 minutes. Last lap...I couldn't do more and took me 18 never-ending minutes, pretty inconsistent.

After the race there was complimentary burger (eaten in seconds!) and tea.

Now I have to train for the 4 hours races in the incoming months Thetfors Winter Series and Merida Brass Monkey Series. Next one is the Gorrick Endura Autumn Classic XC event on Sunday 13th November

Ah, sorry you had a tough time Javi. Sounds like you needed some hills in there to help you out...

Are you not doing the first Thetford Winter Series race on 6 November? Saving yourself for Gorrick the week after? I'm going to do Round 1 of Winter Series - just the hour race to see how it feels...

No worries Jordan. It was just I wasn't strong enough! I did some hills last Tuesday evening at Pole Hill and felt extremely weak.
I'm doing the Winter Series, but firstly there's a Gorrick race in October. I'm going to do the 4 hours as it works out cheaper for the time ridden hehe!
