I've got some time booked off work with nothing planned between Friday 13th and Monday 16th July so I'm thinking of going to Wales for either 2 or 3 days riding. From reading various threads on here the most popular trails seem to be Forest of Dean, Afan, Coed Llandegla and Cwmcarn but I'm more than happy to try some others. As the weather is guaranteed to be nice and sunny that weekend? ?, the plan at the moment is to chuck a tent in the car and camp, as their seems to be loads of decent campsites that cost next to nothing. Or I'll be happy enough slumming it in a local B&B. Any interest in this? |

Aw dammit, I would have been but a friend is getting married that weekend (how inconsiderate!). I will be down that way though. Brechfa might be a bit out of your way but is worth a look. I've also ridden around the Builth Wells (Llanwrtyd Wells) area where they do the bog snorkeling and real ale wobble. Llanwrtyd Wells is a kind of bike centre with a good hotel. |

You can get a 2 man pop up tent from decathlon for about 40 quid, takes 5 mins to put up. Other than that we just need throw away BBQs and cider Bikes and kit can be locked in my van overnight |

Id be up for this if im around. Im riding all those places this week. Theres so much of wales to discover, these are just the trail centres, check out the map, top right. They've even arranged them in a nice S shape to save the petrol money and maximise riding time http://www.mbwales.com/ Ive not been but coed-y-brenin is on the must do list. The original trail centre on the west coast of Wales. Ive got a Gelert solo tent, its about 25 quid and its tiny (no room for anything other than 1 person) but fits in a backpack. Ideal for a few days away if your under 6ft |

Think I mentioned Coed-y-brenin to you Chris. Was one of the first trail centres I rode on my shiny GT some 14 years ago. Might do Snowdon one day, although you can't ride it in the summer months. |

Got back from Wales 2 weeks ago, Rode Coed Llandgela, the new bits are good but make it a lot longer. Still a great route. CYB is awsome.(we rode it twice) You have to ride the Beast, the MBR route just cuts out the good bits. Long climbs but you just know the downs are well worth it. Here what we did. |
