Have fun, you'll love it even if the weather's rubbish! Wall is red grade but not hard. Is the whole of whites open now? |

Had a proper look at the maps of the trails at coed. Thankyou to that lovely lady standing in front/resting her bike on the post we did not turn left to follow the MBR trail. So instead of 18K we did 31K (+ manitor route). Good ride and weekend and already thinking of going back to wales. Thanks everyone |

Heres the pics ladys.. me and Jim did the whites level Black route at Afan before the others arrived, was a long climb up into the clouds and was drizziling a bit which only added to the atmosphere up there, its all rock and the water was running all the way day from the top so was like riding a long up hill stream. the black run was pretty extreme and you could easy come a cropper up there as is mostly fast berms that spiral down then in to almost vertical drops without warning which are covered with rock ledges all over the show! Jim at the top Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr me Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr as you can see we are in the clouds, was pretty creepy up there.. Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr base camp Afan, we had a BBQ and hit the Cider and Beer, was terrible Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr had afters in there club house were we had pudding Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Off to CYB and base camp. as you can see the views were not up to much lol Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Keiths kiddie Tent, Keith is 6'3'' ! Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr thought i was gonna wee my pants when i saw hes feet sticking out the end lol Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr was the best camp site ever, they drive you to the pub in there range Rover sport and then the Chef at the pub drives you home again for free. The Chef was mental and we were doing 80mph in the back of his transit on the way home down the dark lanes haha. next morning Dazzer was sneaking a sheep out in his sleeping bag! Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Jim had a fight with his tent Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr and won in the end Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Off to CYB and we just sort of crossed from route to route the start Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr pic dosent do this justice Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Keith getting the Zesty in the shot Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr us all at the top after the most gruelling climb ive done, was around 4000 feet winding around the mountain, Some of us never walked (we know who we are ) the views were breath taking and the down hill runs were amazing and we all rode better and faster than we ever new we had in us. Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr random shots of us all Jim and Darren Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Matt Havac Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Matt ( the Whippet ) Vanders Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Keith Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr me Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr Was a simply superb weekend even though i killed Keiths car with my Transit "DOH" Jim fixing the car coz the guy we were paying didnt have a clue what he was doing lol Untitled by harrylessman, on Flickr would rate the weekend as one of the best things ive done despite a few dramas, great company best riding and all had a proper laugh from start to finish... Cant wait to get the next one planed for the very near future..... |
