I've been given the green light for 27th
I shall register tomorrow. There is no much interest on the forum for this event maybe because its not competitive?

You're right there's not a lot of interest on the forum because its a challenge rather than comp, but I'm working up to either do competitions or events like the Lemming Trail and maybe coast to coast in 2014 so these are perfect as part of the buildup and the missus getting used to me doing lots of training and seeing me do something with all that effort.

My two youngest kids will be 5 next year so she has less excuses for me having to be home except for 2 hours first thing Sunday and Wednesday evening. :)

Pretty much everyone have to juggle family and work its understandable. My wife works nights so normally i look after our 3 year boy in the mornings.
This will be my first event so not being competitive is i guess a good thing.
Hopefully the weather will hold up!

I've done a benchmark 10.5 mile run today in sort of competitive pace and it took me 1:01h to complete which means I should be able to do a decent time on the day.

How bad and long are the climbs on the actual course?

Looking at the GPS map they provide, it looks like the worst climbs are near the beginning and are about 3 and 4 miles respectively.

Wish I had time to do this. Looks similar to www.exmoorexplorer.com I've done every year but with slightly better organisation.
