They are all old... Poles Wood will be dry as a bone Sunday.

The only way there will be water is if the farmer is spraying it!

Lets see if they take us up that ploughed field again.. If so it will be really solid and bumpy... Going to be a rooty dusty rutty track.... Sweet :-)

Open race out of a field of 92 riders... (mass starts are so much fun   )

Eccles got 46th in 3 laps
I got 62nd in 3 laps
G got 71st in 3 laps
Laser only managed 1 lap
Stumpy had a mechanical on lap 1 (in open race)
He then also raced the 2hr one in the afternoon and got 10th in his category..

What i will say was it "WAS FECKING SO HOT" and the dust was chocking.. course was good laid out with fast sections in the wooded parts some technical sections put in to throw the roadies off clipped in   but the ploughed field sections around the edges where getting painful on a HT   .. Rutty was an understatement.. loose on the corners see many slide out (me included) and so many OTB people where having :o ... loads at side of track with chains off or punctures :(

Managed 4 laps, had time to do a fifth but my legs and heart said no  I run out of drinks and stamina. Very good experience, next I will bring more drinks that's for sure. I saw quite a few off, I only did the B lines sections as I did want to risk an off. Corners were tricky with dusty gravel type of terrain.

WoW just looking at lap times, the fast guys really were fast!
Just had G on the phone saying that the only reason Jamie beat him was because of the start! (impartial adjudicator needed) apparently it bottle necked too much?
I've ridden with most of you guys and wouldnt describe anyone as slow, so to see the leader of the 2 hr race lapping 5 mins a lap quicker, is just mental!

Yeah it was a tough one. Did feel a little lacking in power, probably because of the heat and lack of long rides recently. The start was a pain though, 100m straight then a sharp right that narrowed to about 4 bike widths and over 100 riders starting. The pace the lead guys were doing really puts them in a different category but they can't force people into higher categories.
