Looks good! Might do this as it's 2nd and 3rd of August, not 23rd.

Yep its 2nd till 3rd of Augusts, bloody sticky key board. It looks technical riding but nothing too extreme other than some of the climbs.

Hello,

I'm new to Essexhertsmtb but been booked in for the Ard Rock for a while now. Don't have a B&B booked just yet, camping if they're full I guess.

Jake.

Don't quote me but I think all the spaces are gone now (worth having a look on the web site to double check). I've done camping and biking weekends before and I have to say never again so I've already booked in to a pub b&b about 30 mins away from reeth. As far as I know the camping is part of the entry fee so at least you would have a place to stay if you did get in.

Few more places got released a few days ago, me and a few mates got signed on. Really looking forward to it, though we are all camping, I actually enjoy it!

Right, had a practice day on the course. Out of the five stages the first is the most difficult with steep slippy shingle rock sections on it. The second is the most fun with a glassy gulley run. Three is a rocky road descent. Four is a bit rubbish with a large flat run. Fifth is a good fast glassy section with a bit of mud frown in. 25 miles roughly in distance, its a long hilly ride, very natural and nothing like the trail centers I've come accustom to in wales. Day has been a bit wet with more wet weather expected tonight but dry tomorrow.

Didn't do full run on Saturday as tipping it down by time botto end of stage 2 , like mat said first 2 sections are trickiest rest were great fun the transition stages out of the valleys where brutal in fact wish was running 2x10 , make it easier on legs , I wish I had thought about it and gone with a 30 up front instead of 32 And a hope 40expander on back, great riding stunning scenery every one friendly and great atmospher around the campsite defo do it again next year !! Surrey hills b great training ground
