Orienteering on mountain bikes... looks like it could be a lot of fun :)

You get given a map with the check points and a time limit... 2 or 3 hours and off you go.

More details.... http://www.gorrick.com/trailtrax/index.php

Added bonuses are the start / finish points are pubs with beer and food  and start times are a reasonable 10:00 to 11:00 am

Given that I spend 50% of any ride a bit unsure of where I am and the other 50% of the ride just lost I really doubt I'll trouble the leaders but it's the taking part that counts :wtf:

Anyone else ???

Sounds good! We should take the Top Gear approach and just go as the crow flies at full speed :D

Or another technique... follow the group that looks the most promising, make as if you are actually planning your route, and steal the win off them on the home straight.

Id be up for that if i could get a lift there.

Well.... first one is on the 6th of April and about 30 mins from Swinley. So assuming that Swinley has dried out a bit by April :lolno: there's the option to do the 2hr TrailTrax.... bit of lunch at the start/finish pub and then over to Swinley for a bit of blue trail fun?

Second one is 18th of May and a bit further west but right on the edge of the South Downs so options there?

For me it's pretty weather dependent.... lost in the wood on a nice day, bit out fun :) Lost in the wood in the rain, not so much fun :eh:

Yeah.. definately looks pretty good.. sounds like a good plan, weather dependant.

Karrabean.. where abouts are you? assuming I don't convince some poor bastard to buy my car in the meantime, can fit 3 + bikes pretty easily, so would be happy to give you a lift for a petrol contribution..

PS: bugeye, we all know you can use your superpowers to control the weather.. nice sunny day, gentle breeze please!

Just a quick heads up for anyone following....

I can't make this now as my wife has to work so I'm on childcare duties in the afternoon :(

I think the next one clashes with MSG?

I'll post up nearer the time for the third one to see if there are any takers.
