Will stick with swinley, ended up with a beer or two more than planned so need a bit of time to recover before rideing lol

How was Peaslake in the end? Swinley was reasonably dry in places and a sandy paste in others. Got there in the end at 12 lol Also got a quick go of a bird aeris as they had a demo day going on

I went to Swinley yesterday as well, and tried out the Bird Zero in a couple of sizes and then the Aeris (the orange one). I thought the Aeris was fantastic and now need to buy one. The medium sizing was spot on as well, whereas the zero I was in between a medium and large, the Aeris is a bit longer.
Even on the blue I was getting beaten up too much on a hardtail, so bang goes the hardcore hardtail idea.

Don't be put off by a hardcore hard tail, the surface at swinley is horrible to ride on quick on a hard tail, ride it at other places (be it local woods or other trail centers) and they are brilliant. I ride my stache like I ride my meta and I have loads of fun on it.

The one thing I would say about the bird aeris that I rode was that it was not set up brilliantly, could of easy spent 20 minutes moving the bars/brake levers/shifter/dropper post around to make it more confident inspiring, not a problem if you know enough about bikes but if that's the first time riding an expensive bike you might not feel how good they are. In a years time when I go looking at a new bike will definitely book a proper test ride. Did ask about what other bikes they are looking at developing, sounds lime there will be more to come

Interesting you say that about the Swinley surface, I was having to come off the saddle all the time on the Zero. And same with a Whyte 603. I don't remember hardtails being anywhere like that harsh in other places.

My back was fudged after riding there Sunday, spent 10 minutes half was round stretching as had so much pain, always have to do when I ride there on my hardtail. I always end up dropping the seat slightly so t gives me room for me to stand up on the pedals and act like suspension.
