LOl - I dont think here is a definitive answer to this its all personal preference.. ive swung between just knees and the michelin man look.. it depends on terrain and how you ride. All the kit mentioned is sensible. Dont go to crazy with it however as restricting your movement and getting hot and thus fatigued is also a bad move.

One thing I would say is that coaching is maybe a better investment / also a good investment.. unless you are a really good self learner you will just keep crashing unless you correct bad technique. Often it takes someone else to point out what you should be doing.

Just learn to land properly.

Thanks for those profound words of wisdom ;)

That was a given, and something I'd been trying to do lately.. My clip was a tongue-in-cheek contribution.. I have been considering some padding anyway as not all 'offs' can be predicted and can easily turn nasty but with some small measures could very much reduce the risk of serious injury. :)

That was an amusing stack, you need to remember to jump before you go off the lip that way you control how you land

Defo agree with getting coaching,
I've had 2 sessions with Jedi and it's got to be one of the bet ways to spend your money

You were shifting your body forward as you went off the lip. That just kicks the back up and leaves you trying to land with all your weight positioned over the front wheel. That usually happens when you're trying too hard to jump, just roll into it in a neutral position. :)
