Think I need to buy some new pads for some Avid Elixir 3 brakes after somehow getting wd40 on them again!

What are the standard compond? And what would be best for are conditions?

Semi mettalic, organic, kevlar or sintered

Chances are that you have sintered in there originally, unless you were having braking issues normally I'd replace them with sintered again as they should last longer.

Basic rule goes: Organic are softer and may be more stoppy. Best in dry conditions. Sintered are harder and longer lasting, better for wet, muddy conditions.

My Avids came with organic pads. Organic pads work better but wear out much quicker, especially in wet conditions. I always use sintered now.

Why would you put WD40 on your bike?!
