SO down at triscombe today i came off and somehow managed to bend both brake levers

we bodged them straight again but i need to sort them out.

i have been looking to get some shimano XT's m785 for a while so i think this will be an opportunity to justify the expense.

i know a few of you use the german sites to pick up parts like this as they are considerably cheaper than most uk places.

jim25 said his turned up with the levers the right way round, was this more luck than anything else or do some of the german sites offer them round the right way uk style?

whats that ? you want some pics? ok

god only knows how i did it, i gently slid out to the floor on a corner.

No idea how you did that! if you do resort to buying abroad you can swap the hoses easily enough without needing a bleed just undo them at the lever pull out swap round tighten up again.. let me know what price you find though first - don't want to have to make a habit of it but would rather I supplied than someone else even if it's break even territory!

I know it's a little late for advice, but I never tighten up my levers and shifters quite all the way. They don't move in normal operation, but if I have a crash they'll spin rather than bend/break. Give it a go when you've sorted out some new ones, it's not as scary as it sounds ;)

I got mine here: http://www.bike-discount.de/shop/k495/a ... 26&cr=GBP# but like Rose Bikes they're out of stock at the moment. I did have to switch the hoses though but it was a 10 minute job and very easy, especially if you do all your own stuff like you do.
You had good weather for the day, stayed overcast but didn't rain while I was down there yesterday.

I got some experience from german sites. I bought LX cranks from bike-discount.de.
The cranks had tiny hair cracks at the bottom where the pedal
inserts are.Their customer support was very good and I can recommend them.
At the end I kept the cranks as it turned out these were manufacturing marks
and every set have them.

Can't comment on prices:) But their service desk is Ok if you ever buy something from them
and experince issues. In comparison CC service desk did not have a clue
that Lx cranks had that issue in general:)

They use DPD for delivery too so you shouldn't have any problems, unlike DHL/HDNL/Yodel who seem to lose parcels for a week and then deliver them with the box all smashed up. Got my XT's for £141 from bike-discount.de, wouldn't say the free-stroke was worth the extra few pounds though over SLX.
