Post subject:  Knee shin pad advice

Hi all

After yet another foot slip/pedal smashing into shin situation at Danbury yesterday Im gunna put my cheap knee pads (that spun round the one time i have fallen onto my knee) in a box in the loft!

Anyone got any recommendations for a knee & shin pad? Protection then comfort then £!! I mainly ride Danbury with 1 wales trip under the belt and hopefully more to follow.

A flat pedal and trainer change are probably on the cards soon so if any suggestions for either I would be grateful...

Cheers

Flat pedals + 5tens are a good combo for anti-slip

I like me Race Face FR's too but like all clothing/pads personal choice for fit once you get to similar quality. Can be worth trying some on in a shop and doing some squats or something to see if they feel good, even if you them buy online for the best price. Ages ago I had 661's which where good pads but slipped a bit for me, but they look a bit better these days, Chain Reaction's Brand X where getting good reviews a few years back as they where dirt cheap for the quality.

Nukeproof critical....comfortable, excellent padding and minimal movement and you can chuck them in the wash aswell when they get dirty and stinking.

dmr v12's (wouldnt bother with the mags unless your really bothered about saving weight) + shimano am41 shoes - ive tried a number of flat pedal shoes including 5-10's but these are by far the best...........in my opinion!

Thanks for all the pointers. Looks like it will be another evening with my head in the macbook rather than conversing with the misses!

I need to get a new pair of knee/shin guards, I'm thinking about to get one of the ones below:

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... elID=72482

http://www.tredz.co.uk/.Race-Face-Prote ... =Froogle02

http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/Mode ... +Leg+Guard

Have any of you guys owned any of them? Or would you have another suggestion?

I mainly getting a new one because mines keep slipping down my legs and to stop that I have to make them so tight that starts to hurt the back of the legs, so pretty annoying.

Also I thought about to use a Knee guard Strait for example with football shin pads which I have and then I could choose if I want the shin or not whenever I want, especially during hot days if we are lucky enough.

Thanks for your help
