Hi, I treated myself to a Stinky for Christmas. After riding it at the weekend I noticed the chain rubs quite a bit on the plastic behind the front ring (There should be a picture attached if I did it right). It looks like a chain guide system but there seems to be bits missing. I guess my question is should I remove the plastic bit behind the chain ring until I buy a chain tensioner, or is the rubbing just one of those things you have to put up with ?

Is the rear mech aligned to your chain. As the plastic part it's rubbing on is in fact stopping it eating away on your frame.. best that than metal on metal:-?:-? A tensioner will stop this on the front as well though... Sent from my KFHD viaTapatalk |

Brand? model? chainreactioncycles.com seem to carry alot of spares and bits and pieces. as for the rubbing thats sort of normal depends how its set up. my raceface chainguide rubs in the top 3/4 gears(trying to pedal uphill on a downhill bike lol) but is fine in the lower gears. hope this helps |

Thanks for the replies, it's good to know it's normal. I was thinking of adding one of these http://www.blackspire.com/qs/product/83/5947/263221/0/0 I think the bash guard and backplate are black spire. So hopefully it should all work together |

I expected to do a little tinkering for the price but seems a pretty solid bike all in all. Good shout on moving it round and it looks like the roller and guide for blackspire are pretty standard so well worth a punt for £11 quid. |
