Hello all..I've just tried fitting my new bottom bracket and it 2 wide..my old 1 is a 68 x 121 and the new 1 is a 68k x 121..it looks like the black shell is about 5mm to big..any ideas what the k stands for?..i did email CRC and this was the 1 they pointed me to so surprised it didn't fit..I've fitted the new 1 with old shell and it fits ok,but shouldn't really have to use old parts should i?..thanks for any advice..Z

Measure the bb distance on the frame ?, it should be 68 or 73, these use the same bb called 69/73 and you use washes depending what size it is, i think its normally : if 68 Mm it uses 2 washers one side , one the other. If 73mm it uses one each side.

It's octalink not hollowtech 2. Your drive side should screw all the way in to the bb shell. Then the plastic cup should screw as far in as it will go using your hand on the non drive side then 1 more turn using the bb tool. If the plastic cup has a couple of threads showing, that's ok. You can check it after a ride and you may be able to tighten it some more. Don't over do it though as it's plastic.
