Post subject:  Neck braces-who uses them and what ones to avoid?

Im going to get a neck brace before i start attempting these bigger gap jumps, I dont trust myself to clear the jumps and i can see me crashing head first straight in to the landings and going otb so neck brace and spine protector will be purchased soon,

looking for advice on the above mentioned,

Don't use one (yet) personally but Leatt are the best known and have crossed from motor sport so will be highly engineered and tested. As with any PPE or safety gear, make sure has CE markings.

I have a Leatt DMX ride 3.

You don't even really notice you're wearing it once you're used to it.

I used to wear neck brace... I think it's a great idea, but I think it needs to be looked into more... if you can find ones that fit you, your helmet and body armor..if you wish to use body armor
I used to have a tld d2 and a leatt comp 2 I didn't feel like it hindered me at all and I had a good range of movement with my helmet, but now I have a fox v3r and feel i can't use the two togther as I don't have a great range of movement, which is to be expected as the fox v3r is a moto based helmet, which started me thinking that maybe the d2 and the leatt wasn't ideal for each other and maybe I had to greater range of movement.

Ive not got a neck brace yet but did manage to pick up a 2012 leatt back protector(also neck brace compatible) from CRC for £60 @ 50% off. I got the last one so no point rushing over to get one as the 2013 one is £120, received it yesterday and now feel like an armadillo. hopefully wont need to use it but if i do i hope it saves my spine.

Seriously if something like that is going to happen then it will happen to me, and hitting the landing ramp is my biggest fear at the mo. as ive said before, give me a table top and ill clear it in a couple of runs cos it dosnt matter if i come up short but gaps really freak me out
